2022 Annual Appeal Letter
Dear Friends and Neighbors:
We hope this letter finds you and your family well.
With every passing year, it seems we are presented with new and difficult challenges. Covid -19 continues to pose a threat to both our health and our way of life. An unpredictable economy and rising prices have caused financial hardships for many. We continue to see our neighbors struggle in unprecedented ways. Our Foundation has not been immune to these trials. However, are we NOT discouraged… we are emboldened and more determined than ever to support our community in areas where the “safety net” fails.
Our quiet network of local religious organizations, the Summit Police, the Mayor, Summit Public school principals and other friends provide an early warning system to identify local families in distress. We have supported our neighbors in countless ways (launching Go Fund Me campaigns, paying funeral expenses, heating bills and rent) while our families try to recover… and maintain their dignity.
Unlike large organizations, we have no committees, overheads, or bureaucracy. We meet on a moment’s notice when and as needed. Where necessary, we leverage the local and social media to augment our modest support.
